This will be a busy week for those interested in economic development:
•Kansas City International Airport is seeking input on its master development plan. KCI wants to create signficant economic development opportunities on its land and surrounding areas. A Public Open House will take place on Tuesday, April 10, between 5 and 8 p.m. at Lakeview Middle School, 6720 NW 64th Street. The event offers a chance to see presentations at 5:30, 6:15 and/or 7 p.m. and to talk with the consultant team on the project. •The Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute will host former congressman and now president of the National Biotechnolgy Industry Jim Greenwood for a panel discussion at the Liberty Memorial at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 11. Among the other panelists will be John Bluford, CEO, Truman Medical Centers; Adrain Polansky, Kansas Secretary of Agriculture; and several leaders in area biosciences firms. Later Wednesday evening Greenwood will give the keynote address at the KC Life Sciences Institute annual dinner. The panel discussion is fee and open to the public.
