•Introductions and thanks to Rosie Biondo and Mark One for hosting.
•Presentation on changes in OSHA enforcement from Annamarie Gibbs and Teresa Martin, Lockton.
•A meeting will be held with new KCMO Assistant City Manager for Infrastructure Sheri McIntyre at 8 a.m. either June 23 or 30; please contact Bob Jacobi if you want to attend and prefer one of the dates.
•M/S/C to recommend that the LMC make a contribution of at least $500 to the KC Earnings Tax Coalition for a study of the tax’s impact, and to request that LMC member organizations also contribute to the effort. The city of KCMO is paying one-half of the $43,000 cost.
•Legislation to retain jobs at Missouri manufacturing plants, particularly the auto plants, did not pass. A special session to pass the bill will be called by Gov. Nixon only if legislative leaders agree to vote on it. Committee members will receive information on how to contact key leaders to ask for such a vote.
•NICE is following its successful iBuild with a second interview for its open director/consultant position. The interview is later today.
•The Federal Reserve Economic Advisory Council is seeking input. Please contact Garry Kemp with perspectives on the state of and projections for the economy.
•A Webinar on Pre-Apprenticeship Listening Session, which includes national Building Trades leader Robert Pleasure, will be held at noon Thursday, June 11, conducted by the Office of Apprenticeship. Find log-in information at ww.workforce3one.org for details.
•Upcoming Events:
Of special note Sang Duong, SMACNA, is chairing the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure Aug. 8. She is seeking donations, volunteers and in-kind contributions such as fencing. Mark One Electric will provide two cherry pickers. Sang can be contacted at sang@smacna.com. More details will follow.
The Building Trades Golf Tournament to benefit the birthing center at Truman Medical Centers has a prize drawing for those making early reservations.
Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster has been added to the Mid-America Labor/Management Conference agenda.
The ASA Golf Tournament is running ahead of previous registrations so foursomes are encouraged to sign up early.
