LMC Board of Directors Summary of Minutes
April 19, 2012, 8 a.m. • Builders’ Association
Attending: Terry Akins, Sam Alpert, James Daley, Jim Delaney, Allen Dillingham, Don Greenwell, Scott Hoisington, Dave Kendrick, Mike Kotubey, Bob Jacobi.
•Thanks to Don Greenwell and the Builders’ Association for hosting.
•M/S/C to approve the Financial Report and Proposed Budget subject to audit.
•The Issues Committee will meet soon to look at local issues and plans to educate legislative candidates particularly in open seats. The Construction Committee meeting of May 11 featuring KC Federal Reserve Bank President Esther George is also an opportunity to share perspectives on the state of development financing and the overall economy.
•The Awards Dinner was successful with the highest attendance and revenue. The Mid-Level Leadership Program will soon set 2012-13 dates and work will continue on the advanced Mid-Level. Rockhurst will continue for now with its Interim Dean for the Helzberg School of Management.
•The LMC Golf Tournament will be July 23 at Oakwood Country Club; a title co-sponsorship is likely. Work continues on the Advanced Mid-Level Leadership Program for implementation this year. Board members are also asked to consider venues for the next Public Officials Reception for discussion at the July meeting.
•Upcoming events of interest include the Workers’ Memorial Day observance at the Builders’ Training Center, 10 a.m., April 27; a breakfast for Missouri legislators in Jefferson City sponsored by the Building Trades May 10; the Builders’ Scholarship Golf Tournament May 14 at Milburn Country Club; and the Mid-America Labor/Management Conference July 15-18 at the Lodge of the Four Seasons.
•M/S/C to table the proposal forwarded by the Construction Committee regarding Prevailing Wage Records Request Program.
•Mike Kotubey indicated he is willing to be elected to the Management Vice Co-Chair position; Duke Dujakovich has indicated he is willing to serve in one of the labor leadership positions; James Daley is willing to remain a Consultant after his retirement from Rockhurst.
•The next meeting will be at 8 a.m. in July; the regular meeting day conflicts with the Mid-America Labor-Management Conference so alternate date(s) will be circulated to determine members’ availability.
•M/S/C to adjourn at 9:30 a.m.
