The LMC Construction Industry Committee will next meet at 8 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11 at Mark One Electric Co., Inc., 909 Troost.

The LMC's annual Public Officials Reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, 5-7 p.m. at Livestrong Sporting Park. Sponsorships are available.

Congrats to these LMC members for being named Kansas City Business Journals 2012 Best Places to Work in KC: Argosy Casino (large companies) and McCownGordon Construction LLC (medium companies).

The LMC congratulates Executive Committee member John Phillips for his election as the American Bar Association’s Section of Dispute Resolution 2012-2013 chairman at its annual meeting in early August. He will serve a one-year term in this position. John is a partner at Husch Blackwell.

Due to scheduling issues, the Construction Industry Committee meeting Thursday, Sept. 13, has been postponed. A special meeting will be held within two weeks to address key issues and the next regular committee meeting will be Oct. 11.

On the 11th anniversary of 9/11, the LMC remembers the victims of the attacks, the wars and the clean-up that followed. We also express our thanks for the many who jumped to serve in the military, as volunteers at home and in other ways to respond.
