The beginning of the New Year soon is appropriately a time of celebration and hope. But it also reminds us of leaders who are taking well-deserved opportunities to retire, and that we will miss their leadership and support. A few of the folks who have been especially important to the LMC who have recently or will soon retire include:
Sen. Victor Callahan, term-limited and a staunch supporter of LMC's legislative issues in Missouri. Sen. Callahan does continue with the GKC Building & Construction Trades Council.
Jed Cope, Teamsters Local 541 president.
James Daley, Rockhurst University and LMC Consultant
Jim Delaney, Turner Construction Co. and past LMC Co-Chair
Gary Eagan, Sprinkler Fitters Local 314 and a strong supporter of the LMC and active member of committees
Sen. TIm Green, like Sen. Callahan term-limited and a leader in bringing labor and management from throughout the state together
Herb Johnson, Missouri AFL-CIO and past LMC Executive Committee member
Barbara Koirtyohann, Hallmark Cards, generous with her sage advice on legislative issues
Payne Mendenhall, MOKAN LECET and strong supporter of LMC activities
Albert Riederer, attorney and past Jackson County prosecutor who has supported LMC activities and its mission
Steve Roling, Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City and LMC friend
This list isn't comprehensive so we may add to it later, but we express appreciation to these leaders who have been vital to the LMC's success and to our community's livability. Thanks and good luck in your next, hopefully more relaxed, adventure.
