•Introductions and thanks to Rosie Biondo and Mark One for hosting.
•Presentation from Pam Harris, Connections to Success, regarding potential workers who participate in the Connections program.
•Debarrment language has been agreed upon; other elements are being worked on for KCMO. Key issue is resources for prevailing wage enforcement.
•Potential meeting for contractors on the KCMO Crime Lab/Patrol Station March 4. More details to come. The Minority and Women Coalition are hosting a Feb. 19 meeting on the project and all are urged to attend.
•Prevailing wage and “right-to-work” bills have had hearings this month. SBs 301, expanding bordering counties that can be used in wage determinations, and 274 mandating wage reports have also been filed. Work continues to address genuine issues while maintaining prevailing wage. Bills for a Missouri bond issue also had hearings.
•Kansas SB 93 and HB 2173 regarding liens can impact contractors and workers. Missouri is also looking to match current Kansas lien rules.
•Laborers Local 264 Retirees are hosting Mayor Sly James today, and all committee members are invited.
•Jason Banks updated the committee on upcoming projects in Wyandotte County and invited participation in discussions regarding these and the development process. The prevailing wage tracker program is also being implemented.
•A compliance training for public invstigators and others will be held March 7 at Local 124.
•The iBuild Showcase will be held April 30 at Bartle Hall. High school components have been added. NICE seeks volunteers, contest judges, sponsors and booths.
•The next meeting will be 8 a.m., Thursday, March 14 at Mark One Electric Co., Inc.
