•The Missouri House Workforce Development and Workplace Safety Committee approved HB 1143 (“right-to-work”), HB 1306 (re-defining maintenance for prevailing wage) and HB 1594 (volunteer labor on public projects). A concerted effort coordinating among four coalitions and groups is working to oppose “right-to-work.” Protect Missouri Families has speakers for union and community meetings who can present and encourage letters to legislators; contact Joe Hudson at the Carpenters District Council. A recent study by Dr. Kelsey at UMKC explains the negative economic impact of "right-to-work." The study can be found at http://www.kcaflcio.org/docs/An_Economic_Analysis_of_the_Adoption_of_RTW_on_Missouri_Families___2_10_14.pdf
