The Labor-Management Council of Greater Kansas City

Mid-Level Leadership Program participants gave short speeches and learned about communications and leadership at yesterday's session. Rockhurst University Professor Pete Bicak led the session.

Congratulations to Rosana Privitera Biondo, president of Mark One Electric Co., Inc., and LMC board member, for being appointed as the new head of the U.S. Small Business Administration for the National Women's Business Council (NWBC) in Washington DC. NWBC is a non-partisan federal advisory council created to serve as an independent source of advice and counsel to the President, Congress, and the U.S. Small Business Administration on economic issues of importance to women business owners. The Council is the government's only independent voice for women entrepreneurs. Rosie also recently served as national president of the Women Construction Owners and Executives.

Yesterday was a day of comeback stories: the tremendous progress being made by the Kansas City Public Schools just a year or so from possible dismantlement, and the three comebacks by the Kansas City Royals in a classic Wild Card game, one from a four-run deficit in the 8th inning. With leadership, teamwork and passion, organizations can beat the odds.
