Congrats to Marc Lassalle, an LMC Mid-Level Leadership program graduate and assistant executive director at the Mechanical Contractors Association. Marc's suggestion resulted in the production of a special edition Ford F-150 commemorating the Kansas City Royals World Series win, built at the Claycomo plant. His initiative is featured in a Kansas City Star article today.

The LMC extends condolences to the families and former colleagues of Ted Berberich and Harold Larson. Ted was the director of the Willard R. Wilkinson Laborers Training Center in Belton and president of the Laborers local at the DeSoto ammunition plant. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-9 p.m. at Mount Moriah, 10507 Holmes in KC MO and services 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lee's Summit. Harold, president of GCIU Local 235-M from 1965-89, will be remembered Friday, 10 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Blue Springs.

The LMC sends condolences to Marsha Murphy and family on the death her husband, Bob Morantz, in Naples, Fl. Marsha was a labor attorney with Blake & Uhlig before becoming Jackson County Executive in 1991, then served as a mediator and arbitrator before moving to Naples. Bob was a leading surgeon and community leader in both Kansas City and in Naples. He battled cancer since 1999. Services in Naples will be April 18.

The LMC's Mid-Level Leadership Program at Rockhurst University completed its 2015-16 sessions yesterday. Eight participants will graduate from this year's group, joining more than 300 past graduates in the program's 30 years. This year's graduates include:

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today all LMC members and friends are Irish.

The LMC Board of Directors voted to oppose Missouri SJR 39, which if it became law would harm the state's tourism and convention industries. The bill passed the Senate and goes to the House. If it passes the House, it goes to a public vote.

The LMC welcomes U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill back to work and wishes her continued healing.

Today is Presidential primary election day in Missouri, and we encourage all to vote your choice. And remember that we vote again April 5.

The LMC congratulates the Kansas City Labor Beacon and its publisher, Kevin O'Neill, on celebrating their 60th birthdays last week with a great event at the Fire Fighters Local 42 hall. The Labor Beacon was founded by Meyer Goldman, who also co-founded the LMC. The event drew many labor and business leaders, elected officials such as Jackson County Executive Frank White and past staff members of the Labor Beacon as well as Goldman's daughter, multimedia journalist Judy Goldman.

The LMC thanks Peggy McNeive, Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, for her excellent presentation to the Mid-Level Leadership class at Rockhurst University. We also congratulate Gene Bralley, who is retiring as FMCS regional director this month, and Pat Dunn, who recently retired from the Kansas City office.
