Power Partners Win LMC Craig Whitaker Memorial Golf Tournament
The Labor-Management Council of Greater Kansas City beat the heat Monday as it held a successful 19th annual Craig Whitaker Memorial Golf Tournament at Oakwood Country Club.

Power Partners finished first among the 16 foursomes. Second place was snagged by Blue Cross Blue Shield, and third was won by Pipefitters Local 533. Bob Adam, Board of Public Utilities, won closest to the pin while Blue Cross team member Ron Miller earned the longest drive award. Golfers won more than 20 raffle prizes as well.
Tournament sponsors included luncheon sponsors Cigna and Delta Innovative Services. Eagle sponsors were Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, Boilermakers Local 83, Board of Public Utilities, St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council, JE Dunn Construction Co., Pipefitters Local 533, Plumbers Local 8, Power Partners, Principal Financial Group, Turner Construction Co., United Labor Credit Union and Whitley Construction Co.
Teamsters Local 838 and its Signatory Distributors provided cold drinks throughout the day as well as raffle prizes. United Auto Workers Local 249 sponsored a refreshment cart. Hole sponsors included BMO Taft-Hartley Trust Co., Bricklayers Local 15 and National Institute for Construction Excellence/Greg Lever. Other prize donors were Blue Cross Blue Shield, BMO Harris Taft-Hartley Trust, Aetna and United Labor Credit Union.
Volunteers were key to the event’s success: Nicole Abrahamson, RCS Millwork; Mary Jacobi; Greg Lever, NICE and Emilia Peek, E&K Construction.
The tournament is named in honor of Craig Whitaker, longtime LMC board member who founded the tournament.
