The first day includes blood drives and a 6:30 p.m. kickoff, "When Worlds Collide, Love Results!" at Temple B'nai Jehudah; Wednesday is the Discover Diversity Dinner, 6 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church; Thursday is Alarie Kaur, Revolutinary Love: IN Community with Others", 6 p.m. at Church of the Resurrection; Friday the Shabat Luncheon Connection, 11 a.m., Congregation Beth Torah; Saturday the Ali Kemp T.A.K.E. Defense Workshop, 11 a.m., Notre Dame de Sion High School; Taking Care of You Workshops 12:45 p.m. at Hillcrest Christian Church and at North Oak Christian Church; Sunday Interfaith Dinner and Workshop for Young Adults, 5:30 p.m., Cleveland University; and Monday, Faith, Love & Walk, 4:30 p.m. at the World War I Museum. Former Ambassador Caroline Kennedy gave an excellent presentation on leadership at the Rockhurst University Leadership Series. She emphasized many themes fitting the LMC's mission and with our Mid-Level Leadership Program.

The LMC is pleased that Kansas City Question 1, renewal of the "PIAC" sales tax, passed yesterday with 76% in favor.

Condolences to the family of Dan Beutler, George J. Shaw Construction Co., on the death of his mother Bette.

•Best wishes to Tim Bell, who could not attend due to a family illness

•M/S/C to approve the Financial Report subject to audit.

•M/S/C to support Kansas legislation that would repeal the cap on school bonding levels.

•The Mission, Ks. “driveway tax” overturned by the state Supreme Court is now in dispute over the refund procedure.

•Affordable, quality housing is a significant issue. There is a task force session April 10, 6 p.m. at the KCMO South Patrol station.

•The LMC is also monitoring possible revision of the KCMO MBE/WBE ordinance.

•Paid attendance at the Awards Dinner and Anniversary Celebration April 19 is nearing 200, and close to matching last year’s. There is still time to secure sponsorship and seating.

•The next Board meeting will be July 18, 8:30 a.m. at Rockhurst University.

•M/S/C to adjourn at 10 a.m.

Congrats to Tim Dupin, Mid-Level Leadership grad who was elected President of Fire Fighters Local 42. Tim succeeds another Mid-Level grad, Bill Galvin, who became an assistant chief on the Kansas City Fire Department.
