The LMC remembers the victims and their families on this anniversary of 9/11. That morning the LMC was holding a Construction Committee meeting when Leo Zahner arrived and said a plane had hit a building in New York. After the meeting we learned of the tragedy's magnitude.
One LMC friend was lost in the World Trade Center attack: Julie Geis. Julie worked in the insurance industry and won the women's longest drive at the LMC's first golf tournament just a few years before the attack. We also remember the many fire fighters, police and construction workers who gave their lives and sacrificed their health responding to the attacks in New York and Washington and those who took on the attackers in the skies over Pennsylvania.
