The LMC mourns the senseless shooting of Jackson County Court Process Server Drexel Mack and Independence Police Officer Cody Allen. Our prayers are with the families, co-workers and friends of these two public servants, as well as with the other Independence officers who were wounded.

The shootings are a reminder that even on "routine" duty, servants of the law face great risk whenever they do their jobs.
